While officially yet to be announced, as per the banner on the website, the KO Series will kick off on December 25 and run through January 11.
In the previous edition, held in January this year, the series had guaranteed $10 million in prize money across 230 tournaments. For the upcoming edition, it is very likely that the series will retain the same overall series guarantee.
As with all the bounty tournaments at partypoker, there will be no rake on the bounty portion of the buy-in, making the tournament offerings significantly cheaper than its competitors.

Everyone sits down with 1,000,000 chips and plays to a 12-minute clock where the blinds start at only 5,000/10,000/1,250a.

There are plenty of Monster Series tournaments to get your teeth into before the Main Event and we've noticed a pattern in the opening events that have already crowned their champions. The Monster Series tournaments that have two starting flights available have struggled to get near their ambitious guarantees.
For example, the $33 buy-in Monster #01 – 8-Max: $150K Gtd missed the guarantee by almost $40,000. It's $3.30 Mini cousin didn't fare much better as the prize pool fell short of the $15,000 target by a shade under $4,500.
It was a similar story in Monster #05, the $11 buy-in 6-Max Knockout and the $1.10 6-Max Mini Knockout. The former had $75,000 guaranteed but the buyins were only worth $56,010 while the Mini had $7,500 guaranteed but only collected $4,031.
These overlays represent fantastic value for those playing in them as partypoker adds the money to the prize pool to make up the shortfall. Not only do you have more chances of cashing in a Monster Series event because of the structures mentioned early, but there's essentially free money in the prize pool.
